Completed in 2013, the Colchester Research Building is a
five-story 77,000 square foot building located on a hillside with
panoramic views of Lake Champlain. The lower level features a parking
garage cut into the hillside by blasting and removal of over 20,000
cubic yards of bedrock. The use of welded moment frames to resist
lateral wind and seismic loads allowed for flexible floor plans and full
height curtain walls.
